Man struck with bottle on busy York bridge

Yesterday a court heard how David Shaffi hit another man twice on the head with a glass bottle then struck him in the chest while the bridge was busy with pedestrians.

The attack happened in broad daylight on Ouse Bridge on 25 April last year. The victim was left unconscious and taken to hospital with cuts to his head, swelling to his ear and grazes.
