Sainsbury’s shut after ceiling comes down in city centre

A man was hit when part of the ceiling collapsed at Sainsbury’s Local on High Street just after midday today.

Police said he did not suffer any serious injuries.

The shop has a sign up saying it is closed until further notice.

Emergency services attended and Supertram services through the city centre were held up for a time. Trams are now running again but with delays while they get back on schedule.
