16-year-old girl in life-threatening condition after being found injured in Wakefield

A 16-year-old girl remains in hospital in a life-threatening condition after being found with serious injuries in the road in Wakefield.

Police were called to Rooks Nest Road at around 8.33pm on Tuesday evening after the teenager was found lying in the road close to a bus stop.

Detectives from the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team are investigating and say they are keeping an open mind about what happened.

The investigation is now focused on establishing the circumstances surrounding how the girl became injured.
